Here’s a very interesting piece of filmmaking that I just ran across. The footage was shot over three days by Rob Bliss, a young director and producer based in Los Angeles, California. He’s the guy behind THIS video made in 2014 of a woman constantly being heckled while walking around New York City. That video was titled 10 Hours of Walking Around NYC as a Woman. In it, Rob illustrates the level of harassment that women often endure as they simply go about their day.
For this latest project, Rob edited down three day’s worth of GoPro footage into a quick-paced two-minute video. It clearly shows how overt racism still exists in the US. The way it is so freely expressed by the locals in this small Arkansas town is harrowing. Watch it all the way to the end – SPOILER – there’s a little bit of a punch line that gives us hope that not all is lost.
