I was recently interviewed by the cool folks at Sensaphonics for an article which appears in the July, 2016 issue of their newsletter, Ear Candy.
In case you haven’t heard, back in May of 2015, I was the winner of their Facebook contest in celebration of Better Hearing month. I was randomly chosen to receive a pair of their 2X-S in-ear monitors and the dbCheck digital sound level analyzer!
From the Sensaphonics website:
“The 2X-S are the original soft silicone earphones, combining exceptional sound quality with the most comfortable fit available. The 2X-S is the standard of excellence in touring sound, used religiously as a reference standard by hundreds of high profile artists. Dual micro-transducers deliver neutral, full-range response with powerful bass complementing crystal-clear mid and high frequencies. The 2X-S is made from transparent, medical-grade soft silicone and comes with our field-replaceable coaxial cable system….With its superb fit and seal, the 2X-S provides up to 37 dB of broadband isolation from ambient sound, enabling the artist to hear the monitor mix more clearly at lower volume levels, promoting better performances, improved hearing health, and ultimately, a longer career.”
I’ve used the 2X-S in-ears and dbCheck for about a year now, and as I say in the article, I really couldn’t be happier. They’ve held up great, and trust me, I use them a lot. Between rehearsals and shows, I use them at least two hours a day, everyday. I got a great fit, thanks to audiologist Melanie Holzberg of Plug Life back home in Asbury Park, NJ. Everyone at Sensaphonics has been just great to work with, and I want to thank them for providing me with these useful tools to help protect my hearing.
I’m looking forward to being a happy Sensaphonics user for years to come!
