Today’s “Google Doodle” is a shout-out to Filipina artist, Pacita Abad – and man, her art turns me on! I’m sorry to say that before today, I was totally unaware of her. But upon seeing her work, there was an immediate connection. You see, I am blessed to have a neurological condition known as synesthesia. In simplest terms, I often “see” music as color – and I bet some of you do, too.
Pacita’s work moves me beyond words. There’s just enough chaos and just enough symmetry to make a satisfying composition, and it doesn’t matter whether it’s aural or visual.
